Course Overview

This course provides an insight to the activities involved in running an Agile project with JIRA Software, so that participants can immediately apply their learned skills back on the job in order to administer JIRA used by Agile teams - from starting a new project and building a backlog to releasing a version and preparing reports for the team. The topics cover the activities that you will need to do in each stage of the Agile development lifecycle.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course you will be able to:
  • Learn how to create/update/configure projects in order to get started.
  • Develop the ability to prepare and prioritise the backlog of issues that your team will work on.
  • Learn how to plan the order in which new features (stories) for your application will be released to your customers by configuring versions in a project.
  • Learn the difference between and the use of both a Scrum board and a Kanban board.
  • Develop the ability to set up a framework to manage sprints and monitor progress.
  • Develop the ability to coordinate activities needed to release a version once planned work is complete.
  • Learn about JQL (JIRA Query Language).

Course Pre-requisites

  • Participant should have attended the training session on How to use JIRA Software prior to attending this course.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows interfaces will be an advantage
